The Pagan market is a quirky thing, yet oddly powerful when it comes to those of us in the Green market. Now that people are slowly forgetting the dubious portrayals of neopagans including Wiccans in the media, we can get back to the business of being our down-to-earth, non-teenager selves.1 In the meantime, we get the down-to-earth treat of Serenity of CityWitch talking up the realities of being an adult Pagan, in the city, and in this week’s podcast, in the country. Definitely download – Serentiy talks about some very real stuff that needs talking about. References

Magickal Realism will represent this weekend at the Belfry Winter Market. Stop on by for Punk’In, Dip Me in Chocolate Bath Salts, and a variety of other olfactory delights. Just look for the cake stand – the goodies are no calorie, because you really shouldn’t eat them (seriously, please don’t – and don’t let your pets eat them, either.)
You can find us Saturday, December 15 and Sunday December 16 at 3753 Bloomington Ave S Minneapolis, MN 55407. It’s next door to a striped Jamaican restaurant, at least, the last time I saw it. You can even swing by on Friday night for a sneak peek! The Belfry Center is a community run arts and diy collective, best known for their sock puppet art shows. |

Magickal Realism was included in the Minnesota 20/20 Gift Guide today. For some reason, we’re in the Arts and Crafts section rather than Bath and Bed, but hey, we’re in!
There’s a lot of handmade in Minnesota. For those on the Handmade Pledge, take a look at all Etsy Minnesota has to offer! |

One of the tough things about writing this blog is the sense that I really have bitten off more than anyone could chew. It’s a huge topic – from basic chemistry to sudsing up to sustainable agriculture to the pitfalls of running a cottage industry business. And while I’ve slid by on reading, experimenting, and native wit, I admit I’m often a bit flummoxed by my other natural perfumers, and sometimes more flummoxed by the personal politics that have evolved within the community (I am not part of those politics, usually opting to mind my own business and focus on selling my own stuff). That said, I haven’t given up. I am glad to have taken a break after completing nablopomo, and I hope to have gained a reader or two from the entire experience. This month is busy, without or without the holiday shopping frenzy, and I’m here to give pause in the midst of that frenzy. I’m also waiting for my second serious head cold of the season to clear, and since it’s been demonstrated that I’m now reactive to pseudophedrine (we’re talking Quasimodo, here) I’m forging out on an herbal quest for just the right thing to keep my sinuses clear all winter long. If I find it, believe me, I’ll share. |
