My boyfriend wanted to make a big fuss over his cute little cougar this morning, but intead I found myself rushing my friend over to her appointment at Springboard for the Arts. So, without eggs benedict in my tummy and forgoing a birthday morning romp, I ran up from Minneapolis to Coon Rapids and carted my friend on down for the best evaluation and reality check starving artist money can buy.

Now I’m blogging from Black Dog Cafe’, which is located on the first floor of the building where Springboard is located. The coffee is good, I’m hoping I don’t get a ticket from my rush parking job (but if I do, it won’t likely be expensive), and my friend gave me a beautiful Da Vinci tarot deck that I can use alongside my Savador Dali deck. (Did I mention I read tarot? I read tarot.)

I have to tell you, if you’re an artist hoping to make a career of it, check out Springboard. Although I’m far from together enough to talk to them yet, it’s something I intend to visit in the next two years. They cover everything from career planning and networking to that holy grail of balance between art and business, marketing. For them, I’m willing to rack up some artistic karma.
