Today I spent out and about at the Seward Art Festival, an art crawl specific to my neighborhood in Minneapolis. It differs from other Twin Cities arts festivals in that it’s less pretentious - these really are startup and bootstrap artists, for the most part - and in that it’s smaller and ends in a more cohesive way.

While I didn’t find something to take home, and I have definitely ruled out my own neighborhood for a studio space, I got to see firsthand the kind of creativity that goes on around here. And it makes me feel very lucky to live in a place as creatively powerful as Minneapolis.

The artist that did this had an amazing iconography series, including Christian and Egyptian icons.

Joan of Art gallery is known for its whimsical stuff.
